Bryan Lee & Nick Hern
7:30 p.m. - $10.00
Solo IBC representative for Topeka Blues Society, Dave Boswick will be opening.
It's a privilege to be able to say our own Nick Hern is a member of the Bryan Lee Band. Bryan Lee is a world traveling musician known as "Braille Blues Daddy" who started out playing for Midwest crowds at the early age of 15. In the late 1950's Bryan Lee opened for Bill Hailey & The Comets, performing cover music. By the 60's & 70's Bryan Lee's musical interest turned to the sound of Chicago Blues, influenced by Muddy Waters, Howlin World, Hubert Sumlin and Freddie King.
Nick Hern started with our Topeka Blues Society at 15. I can't count the hours he’s sat watching blues greats, a guitar never very far away from his side. Nick has been able to play with some outstanding musicians over the years, preparing for the call to the big stage. Always a team player, Nick traditionally plays lead, but is now playing bass. I believe Nick is learning way more than we could have shown and will always "play it forward."
